It was great to attend the ribbon cutting for the revitalized Memorial Park today. Great to see the hard work of Mayor Benitez and the Council, Mr. Kamali and the city staff, the UMD designers and all of the firms that made it happen.
The park has come along way from my time on the Green Team when we were able to get a few native echinaceas to plant through Clean Up Green Up.
It is lovely to see the stormwater retrofits, permeable cobblestone pavers, native plants, and wholesome, welcoming design and also that it was achieved through successful use of grants and other funding streams.
